Ursina Pally Hofmann elected as new FMH Secretary General
The Central Board of the FMH has elected Ursina Pally Hofmann as the new Secretary General. Anne-Geneviève Bütikofer, who has been Secretary General for many years, will move to H+ as of October 2018.
As of 1 October 2018, Ursina Pally Hofmann will be the new Secretary General of the FMH. She will continue in office as Head of the Legal Services Department.
Lawyer and midwife
The 50-year-old from Graubünden holds a doctorate in law and is a qualified midwife. From 2014 to 2018, Ursina Pally Hofmann held various management positions at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, including Head of Medical Claims, where she looked after various players in the healthcare sector as clients. In the years from 2012 to 2014, Ursina Pally Hofmann already worked as Deputy Head of Legal Services at FMH.
Previously, she was employed as a lawyer specialising in medical malpractice law at a law firm in Zurich. Before and during her law studies, Ursina Pally Hofmann worked as a trained midwife in various hospitals and therefore also has many years of practical experience in the healthcare sector. On a part-time basis, she continues her activities as a commercial judge in the Canton of Zurich and as a lecturer in the Department of Health at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
