Switzerland Global Enterprise honours specialists for Med training courses
Virta Med AG was awarded the Export Award 2019 by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) alongside other finalists. The company, which manufactures simulation devices for training operations, convinced the jury with its clever export strategy.
The Zurich-based medtech company VirtaMed was presented with a Switzerland Global Enterprise award on 26 March 2019. A total of three finalists of the Export Awards 2019 were honoured at the fully booked Foreign Trade Forum at Messe Zürich:
- Andermatt Biocontrol AG, Grossdietwil LU: Healthy spraying
- CAMAG, Muttenz BL: Label in the laboratory
- VirtaMed AG, Schlieren ZH: Virtual surgery
The winner was chosen by the independent Jury of business, science and media representatives the VirtaMed AG. Whether orthopaedics, urology or gynaecology - VirtaMed simulators can be used to perform endoscopic procedures in a practical manner. Twelve years after its foundation, the SME in Schlieren employs 100 people from 20 countries and has established two subsidiaries and a worldwide distribution network.
VirtaMed is the leader when it comes to virtual training of minimally invasive operations. Nearly 1,000 simulators in 50 countries are now used to practice endoscopic skills cost-effectively - at teaching hospitals and medical training centers as well as at manufacturers of medical technology products.
The trophy was presented by Ruth Metzler-Arnold, Chairman of the Board of Directors of S-GE. "VirtaMed AG has managed to convince the world market with highly precise simulators. With a well thought-out export strategy, the company supplies customers in both emerging and mature markets," says Ruth Metzler-Arnold proudly. "In addition, the success story of VirtaMed AG shows how an international sales strategy can contribute to the rapid growth of a company in Switzerland."
