SwissICT has a new head of communications
Simon Zaugg, an experienced marketing professional and specialist journalist, is taking over responsibility for communications and marketing at Switzerland's largest ICT association.
Simon Zaugg, an experienced marketeer and ICT journalist, will take over responsibility for swissICT's communications and marketing on 1 October.
The 32-year-old Zaugg not only has an extraordinarily well-filled rucksack of specialist skills for his future task. He also knows the ICT industry very well from his diverse professional experience.
Trade journalism, software marketing and digital strategies
After studying media and communication sciences in Fribourg, Zaugg gained journalistic practice for three years as editor of the specialist publication Netzwoche and got to know the industry from the media's point of view. He is familiar with the perspective of ICT companies from his activities as communications and marketing manager at the Thun-based web agency Comvation and as co-managing director of the software start-up Cloudrexx.
Most recently, Zaugg was a consultant at the Zurich-based communications agency science communications, specialising in digital strategies. He completed his Master's degree in New Media Journalism at the University of Leipzig in 2015, which further enhanced his skills in this field.
Association and new media development
Bianca Rühle, Managing Director of swissICT, is convinced that Zaugg will make a decisive contribution to swissICT's marketing and communications with his experience and know-how: "Simon Zaugg not only has all the specialist skills that are crucial for his tasks. From his work as an editor of a specialist medium, he is also familiar with the ICT association system." Zaugg himself is looking forward to his new challenge: "swissICT's communications and marketing are on a very good footing. The task now is to continue this work seamlessly in the accustomed manner and quality and to set new accents in the digital channels on a selective basis."
