Swiss Trade Fair for Process and Laboratory Technology
ILMAC, the most important Swiss trade fair for process and laboratory technology, came to an end on 23 September 2016. Over the four days of the exhibition, more than 12,000 trade visitors came to find out about new products, technological applications and process solutions. The current industry theme of "Industry 4.0" was the focus of the ILMAC Forum and was addressed from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
More than 12,000 specialists from the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, cosmetics, food and beverage industries visited their "in-house exhibition" in the middle of the Life Science Cluster in the Basel region. On the last day of the exhibition, high-ranking representatives from politics and the chemical industry in the Upper Rhine region came to see ILMAC for themselves.
The 20th ILMAC, held from 20 to 23 September 2016 at Messe Basel, displayed a broad horizon of specialist knowledge. The topic of "Industry 4.0" in process and laboratory technology is becoming increasingly important, and the experts at ILMAC were particularly interested in this specialist area. How is the industry meeting the current challenges of automation, digitalization and technical dynamics?
Current market mirror
For the first time, exhibitors in the areas of process and laboratory technology were placed in mixed groups. ILMAC thus reflects the trend for technological applications in the market to move closer together and for processes to be planned holistically. The concept has proved its worth and the exhibition was praised as being clearly structured and of high quality.
In the ILMAC Forum, at the Lunch & Learn Sessions as well as in LabTec 4.0 and the Cleanroom Control Forum, visitors were able to benefit from the practical experience and valuable knowledge of successful entrepreneurs and experts from research, development and education and experience live demonstrations.
In particular, the "Lunch & Learn Sessions" organized by the Swiss Chemical Society met with great interest from the public.
