Successful CFOs elected
More than 540 CFOs belong to the CFO Forum Switzerland, an association. At the last Swiss CFO Day on 13 January 2016, high-profile CFOs were presented with the CFO of the Year Award 2016.
Three leading CFOs received awards on 13 January 2016. In the "SMI companies" category, Dieter Enkelmann, CFO of Julius Baer, won the CFO of the Year award. In his current role, Dieter Enkelmann stood out in particular for his analytical and quick thinking as well as his long-term orientation.
In the "SPI Company" category, the award goes to Barry Callebaut's Chief Financial Officer, Victor Balli. With around 9,500 employees in more than 28 countries worldwide, Callebaut leads a rather small team. However, he has played a decisive role in shaping the Group. He deserves the CFO of the Year because of his proven track record.
Pius Bernet, CFO of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, received the award in the "CFOs Members" category. Pius Bernet is distinguished by his many years of experience in various industries. In his career, he has worked for both listed and unlisted companies and foundations.
In his current position, which he has held for over 6 years, he has been able to apply and successfully implement all the skills that make up a CFO. His contributions were essential for a successful change management and repositioning of the organization. It was not only a matter of financial issues such as the conversion and professionalization of accounting and the increase of transparency for stakeholders, but also of decisively shaping a modern corporate governance in a complex structure as well as re-establishing trust in a broad public.
