Simone Wyss Fedele new CEO of Switzerland Global Enterprise

The Board of Directors of Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) has elected Simone Wyss Fedele as the new Chief Executive Officer. She will succeed Daniel Küng in October, who will retire after more than 15 years as CEO of S-GE. Simone Wyss Fedele is an expert in internationalisation issues with relevant experience in business and politics.

Simone Wyss Fedele will take over from Daniel Küng as CEO of Switzerland Global Enterprise on 1 October 2019. Daniel Küng will retire after more than 15 years as CEO of S-GE.

Simone Wyss Fedele is currently Chief Economist at Novartis and is part of the Executive Committee of Novartis Switzerland as Head of Policy. In this role, she is responsible for strategic advocacy vis-à-vis associations, politics and administration, for internationalization issues and for dealing with macroeconomic trends and challenges. Previously, she worked for Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Helvetia Insurance and Endress+Hauser, among others.

International experience given

Dr. Simone Wyss Fedele holds a PhD in economics and is an accomplished expert on the international business environment. In her professional career, she has worked as a management consultant for internationalization issues, developed new business models for the international market and accompanied companies through macroeconomic challenges such as the euro crisis.

The 39-year-old Basel native is also a member of the Life Sciences Commission of the Basel Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign Trade Commission of Economiesuisse, as well as a board member of the International Chamber of Commerce Switzerland and the Swiss Venture Club Northern Switzerland.

The Board of Directors of S-GE is convinced that it has found the ideal candidate for the position of CEO in Simone Wyss Fedele. Ruth Metzler-Arnold, Chairman of the Board of Directors of S-GE, adds: "Simone Wyss Fedele understands the central issue of internationalisation for S-GE and its customers from an economic and political perspective. She is therefore ideally suited to successfully develop our company together with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO and our partners and to further strengthen the Swiss export promotion and settlement network with its numerous players. We are delighted that a proven business and political professional will be taking over the helm from Daniel Küng."

Simone Wyss Fedele studied Business & Economics at the University of Basel and obtained her doctorate in 2010 with a dissertation on international trade. Additional training took place at Oxford University, the London School of Economics and the University of St. Gallen, among others.
