Examination for "Zert. Medical Technology Consultant shqa

The MedTech consultant is in regular contact with customers and works in sales, distribution, technical customer and internal sales service, marketing management or service. He/she moves independently in the outpatient as well as in the inpatient sector and assumes a central hub function between the medical technology company and its heterogeneous stakeholders.

The high quality and safety standards of the more than 600,000 different products make comprehensive expertise and regular training indispensable.

29 out of a total of 33 candidates passed the first written examination to become a "cert. Medical Technology Consultant shqa" last November. The high participation and good results confirm that the association examination developed by FASMED together with swiss health quality association (shqa) for employees with customer contact and the e-learning preparing for it meet a market need.

15 candidates and 18 candidates passed the written examination in German (25) or French (8) on 14 November 2015. Based on the comprehensive catalogue of learning objectives, the University of Bern had compiled 90 technically challenging questions on law, ethics and compliance, basic medical knowledge, the Swiss healthcare system and performance and remuneration.

The participants had three hours to answer the questions. 29 of the total of 33 candidates passed the examination. The pass rate is therefore 87.9 percent.

e-Learning established
With comprehensive e-learning, the candidates were able to prepare specifically for the examination. - The cross-sector certificate for the new job profile, developed together with the Institute for Medical Teaching at the University of Bern, is widely recognised by employers as a basic qualification.

It certifies that the holder has comprehensive, well-founded and up-to-date know-how for competent exchange with medical professionals.

Fit for the medtech market
The next examination will take place on 1 April 2016. This is aimed at employees with customer service tasks and contact who want to make themselves fit for a successful professional career with Swiss medtech companies and thus also increase their marketability. Other target groups for this are employees from abroad who want to acquire Switzerland-specific specialist knowledge and people who want to enter the industry.
