Practical life tests for products in the hygienic sector
Bürkert Fluid Control Systems specializes in hygienic measurement. In process technology - especially in the pharmaceutical and food industries - the demands on service life, reliability and functionality of the valves used continue to increase.
Products up to nominal diameter DN 100 can now be put through their paces with the multi-media test rig, as it enables realistic process simulations in the hygienic sector, for example for cleaning and sterilization processes. The tests run automatically according to previously defined test conditions. Temperatures, pressure ranges, cycle numbers and switching times of the valves can be defined and programmed for different media.
The test sequences are based on current Bürkert standards as well as relevant norms and regulations, e.g. the international standard for plants for the manufacture of biopharmaceutical products ASME BPE Appendix K. However, application-specific test sequences are also possible. The realistic resistance and long-term tests in extreme and limit ranges also provide a good basis for further optimizing the reliability, resistance and service life of all components in contact with the media.
What is being tested?
The cleaning and sterilization processes within the multi-media test stand are realized by using different test media. The test media include purified and ozonated water, acids and alkalis in various concentrations, pure steam, compressed air, vacuum and, if necessary, other compatible application-specific media. The media sequence can be defined separately within the six test chambers.
This results in almost unlimited possibilities for the test scenarios and tests can be carried out close to the application conditions. The optional test-accompanying recording and documentation of the test parameters serves to verify the test procedure.
