Franz Grüter, National Councillor and President of the SVP Canton Lucerne

Franz Grüter has been elected as the new co-president of Parldigi by the core team of the Digital Sustainability Parliamentary Group. He takes over from Christian Wasserfallen (National Councillor FDP, Bern), who is stepping down after seven successful years alongside Edith Graf-Litscher (National Councillor SP, Thurgau), but will remain active in the core team.

As before, the core team also includes Balthasar Glättli (National Councillor Green Party, Zurich), Rosmarie Quadranti (National Councillor BDP, Zurich), Kathy Riklin (National Councillor CVP, Zurich) and Thomas Weibel (National Councillor GLP, Zurich).

Together with Co-President Edith Graf-Litscher, Franz Grüter will chair Parldigi. Franz Grüter is a member of the National Council and President of the SVP Canton Lucerne. Professionally, he has been CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the green.ch Group since 2008. At the beginning of 2016, he handed over his position as CEO of green.ch in order to devote more time to his National Council mandate, but remains Chairman of the Board of Directors. As a long-standing, well-connected IT entrepreneur, he is also a board member of the umbrella organisation ICTswitzerland.

He is motivated in his new role as co-president of Parldigi: "The digitalisation of our society is more important than ever, yet parliament often lags behind technological change. That's why I want to work across party lines at Parldigi for digitally sustainable policies."
