Standard for the Internet of Things
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published a standard that defines a standardized reference architecture for the Internet of Things (IoT). It is intended to ensure the security of IoT systems and the confidentiality of the processed data.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is introducing a new standard to support the security of systems on the Internet of Things (IoT). The reference framework, published back in October 2018, aims to ensure the smooth functioning of these systems, which are present in "all aspects of our lives, from electricity to agriculture", autonomous vehicles, e-health, smart cities and Industry 4.0, writes ISO, the Geneva-based organisation.
The "ISO/IEC 30141" standard establishes an internationally standardized reference architecture for the IoT.

The standard provides a common vocabulary, reusable concept maps and best practices for the industry. Designers and application developers in the IoT sector are invited to use this common framework as a basis for the development of trustworthy systems in order to ensure the security of their solutions against cyber threats. The confidentiality of data will be put on a better footing, the ISO emphasizes.
