New Managing Director of SAQ
The Swiss Association for Quality SAQ has a new Managing Director: Prisca Zammaretti. She took over this function on 1 February 2021, which had previously been successfully carried out on an interim basis by Daniel Meyer.
With Prisca Zammaretti, a woman is once again taking over the management of SAQ. Born in Ticino, Prisca Zammaretti has extensive knowledge of quality and regulatory affairs as well as a wealth of management and leadership experience. In the course of her professional career, she has worked successfully in various small and large companies in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors. Among others, she worked for Roche Diagnostics and Nestle in Switzerland and abroad. Prisca Zammaretti most recently completed an EMBA at the University of St. Gallen. Prior to that, she completed studies for a Master of Chemical Engineering, a PhD in Applied BioScience and a Master of Medical Physics - all at ETH Zurich.
According to her own account, it was thanks to a coincidence that she applied for the position as SAQ managing director, Prisca Zammaretti tells MQ in an interview. "A colleague from a work group pointed it out to me and said this position was exactly what I've been looking for." After all, she always wanted to use her knowledge and skills for associations one day. At SAQ, this now seems to be a perfect fit: Rich experience from quality management meets the challenges of association work. "I love challenges," comments Prisca Zammaretti. Her sporting spirit may also play a role: she was active as a junior swimmer at the top European level and now trains triathletes. What's more, the SAQ is not new to Prisca Zammaretti: Her former employer Roche Diagnostics is an SAQ member and participates in the medical technology specialist group. In this context, Prisca Zammaretti has already had the opportunity to conduct training courses and give lectures.
The topic of "quality" has become an important concern for Prisca Zammaretti due to her previous professional activities. Quality ultimately determines the economic success of a product, she says, and would like to see more attention paid to this issue in many courses of study. Who knows: Perhaps Prisca Zammaretti will be able to make a difference in her new role as SAQ Managing Director.
