New management of the Institute for Facility Management (IFM)
There will be a change of leadership at the Institute for Facility Management (IFM) at the ZHAW in Wädenswil: Prof. Thomas Wehrmüller, who has played a key role in shaping IFM for 17 years, will retire at the end of the year. He will be succeeded on 1 December 2016 by the renowned German FM expert Prof. Antje Junghans.
Antje Junghans is currently Professor of Facility Management in Trondheim at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She is currently a visiting researcher at the University of California at Berkeley. Her research focuses on the sustainability and energy efficiency of buildings and the development of holistic facility management strategies. The renowned scientist is distinguished by impressive achievements in research and teaching and has an excellent international network. As a board member of the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM), she led the Euro-FM research group from 2010 to 2012.
At the beginning of her professional career, she managed her own architectural practice in Germany and was project manager of major construction projects. "I am convinced that Antje Junghans will be an excellent continuation of Thomas Wehrmüller's work," says Prof. Urs Hilber, Director of the ZHAW Department of Life Sciences and Facility Management. Prof. Thomas Wehrmüller built up today's IFM in Wädenswil and excellently profiled and led it for 17 years.
At the Institute of Facility Management at the ZHAW, more than 50 experts work, research and teach in the fields of real estate management, business economics/human resources and hospitality management.
