ISO 27701: Cornerstone Receives New International Privacy Certification
Cornerstone OnDemand, a leading global provider of human resources development solutions, today announced that the company has received ISO 27701 certification for a data privacy and information management system, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to compliance and data privacy.
Considered the first globally recognized data protection certification, ISO 27701 is an extension of the ISO 27001 information security management standard, built on the same requirements, controls and objectives, and aligned with the GDPR. While normally the issue of data protection is primarily considered from a legal perspective, this new certification provides not only a means to easily demonstrate compliance, but also a structured framework for best practice.
Requirements are recommended for information security and the protection of personal data, and practical guidelines for the management of data protection programmes are outlined.

This latest announcement closely follows previous Cornerstone data protection initiatives, such as the appointment of José Rodríguez, who was one of the first ten data protection officers to be certified in France following the 2016 GDPR announcement.
