ICT Security of national importance
Protection against cyberattacks on corporate and administrative networks is a crucial success factor for companies and administrations today. Finding suitable specialists for ICT security tasks is difficult. Initiated by ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz, the "ICT Security Expert" project is being launched in collaboration with the Federal IT Steering Committee (FSUIT) and business representatives in order to create a highly positioned and recognised diploma qualification.
The national umbrella organisation ICT Vocational Training Switzerland is launching the "ICT Security Expert" project in collaboration with the Federal IT Steering Committee (FSUIT) and with the support of market-leading companies such as Microsoft, Swiss Post, Swisscom, UBS and the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE). The aim of the sponsors from business and administration is to develop a federal diploma-level qualification for IT specialists in the field of information security and to train highly qualified experts. The first federal examinations for ICT Security Expert are expected to take place in summer 2018.
New job description "ICT Security Expert
The new job description of the "ICT Security Expert" will take on an important function as a state-recognised person of trust in the economy, politics and administrations. "Whether in the private sector or at the federal level, we are convinced that ICT security cannot be guaranteed without well-trained specialists", explains Peter Fischer, Head of the Federal IT Steering Unit (FSUIT).

Information is one of the most important assets of a company. Ensuring information security and protecting it from cyberattacks and breaches of confidentiality places high demands on companies and administrations. Well-trained ICT specialists with a high level of technical and social competence are crucial.
