Health Tech Cluster informs about regulation

The Health Tech Cluster Switzerland is holding an information event on 16 January. Participants can learn about regulation in the medtech sector in a total of nine seminars. Participation is free of charge and registration is still possible.

The Health Tech Cluster Switzerland based in Schwyz, works with several partners to carry out the project. Thus acts Start Smart Schlieren as one of the hosts, while the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich is one of the communication partners.

The Event "Regulatory Journey - Nine Workshops Will Take You Further" will be held Jan. 16 at the von IFJ Institute for Young Enterprises startup space and in the Innovation and Young Entrepreneurs Centre IJZ will take place. Participants can choose three workshops from a total of nine seminars in which they would like to take part. In total, the event will last from 2 pm to 8 pm.

The term Health Technology

The term health technology (health tech) covers all players in the health value chain whose products or services serve to prevent health problems, support diagnosis, improve the quality of life, or improve or stabilize the health of patients. The health value system also includes providers of intermediate products and services that ultimately enable companies and organizations to provide their services to patients.

The Medical Devices Regulation has been brewing for some time, with drafts published in 2016 and the final version in May 2017. The transition period for the Medical Devices Regulation ends on 26 May 2020, after which all non-compliant manufacturers will be barred from selling and distributing their products on the EU market. Manufacturers who are not aware that their products will be classified higher run the risk of not having the relevant follow-up and clinical data to submit to the notified body to ensure certification in accordance with the Medical Devices Regulation by the deadline.

The city of Schlieren is happy to welcome further participants. Participation is free of charge. Registration for the event is online possible.
