Hannes plans an appointment
Hannes broods over a concept for the reorganisation of material logistics. Normal office routine. The telephone rings. According to the number recognition it is neither a customer nor an employee. It could be a coach who still has to fill his order books, or an office supplies company that has accidentally slipped through the secretary's cracks and wants to sell him ten toners for his local printer. Or at least a hundredweight of paper supply.
Slightly annoyed by these thoughts, Han-nes presses his name into the telephone receiver with a cool "What-can-I-do-for-you?
But no, that's Sebastian, his old schoolmate! He is a new distribution manager at a supplier and wanted to inquire about the last delivery that didn't work out. The call is a pleasant surprise.
Sebastian:"Hello Hannes, is it really you?"
Hannes:"Sebastian - you old robber. I don't believe it!"
S:"Yes, yes, you seem to have gone a long way."
H:"Oh yeah, I sit here in management, it's fun. And what do you do?"
S: "Got a great job too, I run the quality assurance department at the machine company that gives you the best goods when they finally arrive ..." They both snort happily into the telephone receiver.
H:"Haven't seen you in a while."
S:"Yeah, we could go out for beer again."
H:"Should we make an appointment right now?"
S:"Sure, I'll just grab my smartphone".
Hannes also opens the scheduler in his computer. "February and March aren't exactly convenient, I'm in a huge project, April would be better," Sebastian suggests.
H: "Ui, April is inconvenient, it's Easter and then I'm on sabbatical until July."
S: «So after that: I'm still in Palma in July, but from August I'm sure we'll find a date."
H: "August is good. The new production doesn't start until the 20th. There's an intense planning period before that, but the 18th or 19th would suit me fine.
S:"Oh no, I'll be in Stockholm from the 16th to the 19th."
H: «Stockholm is beautiful, I'll be there in mid-October. What does it look like in September?"
S: «Let's see - oh, no, I can't do September at all, I'm afraid. I'm getting married then and you never know what there is to do before then."
H:"I understand that, of course it blocks the schedule."
S:"But listen Hannes, I have an idea: we could meet a little earlier at my wedding.
...meet. I'm sure you'll be there."
H: «When are you getting married?"
S: «September 10th at ten o'clock. We could meet at nine."
H:"That's booked."
S:"Tip-top, the appointment search was quick."
H:"I've always liked your decisiveness and spontaneity."
Sebastian laughs, "It figures."
"And if something comes up?" Hannes adds.
S:"We're still exchanging cell phone numbers - just in case."
H: «Sure thing - so, see you soon."
S:"So glad to see the date work out on such short notice."
H: «We can discuss the delivery problems of your machine parts right then, I'll take the documents with me."
S: «That's what we do. Your efficiency is still unmatched. So long."
H:"Bye."
