GS1 Switzerland: Broader offering with new services
The 11th Annual General Meeting of the GS1 Switzerland trade association took place at the beginning of June. All statutory business was approved. In the public part, Bernhard Wolff from Think-Theatre GmbH explored the question of how the creativity of employees can best be promoted.
The General Meeting was chaired by Robert Vogel, President of GS1 Switzerland, and took place at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Berne. There were no extraordinary decisions to be made in the statutory business at this year's general meeting. In his presentation, Nicolas Florin, Managing Director, informed about the business of the past year and the upcoming activities for 2016. In particular, he thanked the valuable support of our sponsors and the community.
In the current year, GS1 Switzerland will not only focus on the further development of its proven offerings, but also on new services in the areas of traceability (fTrace), demand management (360° touchpoint analysis) and master data maintenance (trustbox, GLN Search), as well as the corresponding range of seminars. The voting members accepted all the business presented.
The challenge of the future
Roger Harlacher, CEO at Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG, was elected as a new member of the Board of Directors. He replaces Mathias Adank, Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG, who is leaving the Board. Myriam Philipona, British American Tobacco Switzerland SA, Rainer Deutschmann, Manor AG, and Jürg Rückert, CMC AG, also left the Board. The President thanked the outgoing Board members for their commitment. The Board of GS1 Switzerland now consists of 20 members and supports the President in his work to enable global action through the work of all stakeholders and with the help of uniform standards.
