Food transporter receives ISO 22000 certification
With the certification according to ISO 22000, the globally active logistics service provider Agility underlines its competence in the area of food safety throughout the entire transport chain.
The ISO 22000 standard is a worldwide standard for food safety quality management systems.
Agility has successfully had the quality management system for the Swiss national organisation certified in accordance with the latest international standard for food safety. This now officially confirms that the logistics service provider meets national and international food safety requirements in the area of transport.
Agility itself classifies the new standard as an ideal means of delivering the highest possible quality and continuously improving. "Our goal is to be recognised as a qualified Nutrition Competence Centre," says Giovanni Nardiello, Chief Operating Officer Agility Switzerland.
"Certifications are absolutely essential in this market". Agility's Nutrition Competence Centre is an experienced team that reacts quickly and flexibly to the respective transport requirements. It ensures that all food safety requirements and legislation are met during transport.
As part of the certification process, the logistics provider's quality assurance department implemented additional measures to ensure the safe transport of the products. The result is impressive: selected equipment and quality controls before and during transport up to delivery ensure that the quality of the foodstuffs is not impaired or contaminated (e.g. by temperature deviations or unclean containers/loading areas).
Through its requirement for transparency, the certification creates trust among customers and partners in the services of the freight forwarder. Agility's portfolio ranges from temperature measurement devices to cold chain solutions and advanced tracking & tracing technologies that ensure transparency throughout the supply chain.
