The EFQM model is a globally recognised framework for action that helps organisations to improve and develop their performance and competitive strength and to manage change.

The EFQM model is built on the logic of the following three questions:

  • Why (orientation) does the organization exist? What purpose (mission) does it serve? Where does it want to go (vision)? What values, leadership and culture does it live by? Why has it chosen this path, why is it pursuing exactly the strategy currently in place?
  • How (realization) does it intend to achieve its purpose and implement its strategy? How does it engage key stakeholders? How does it create sustainable value? How does it simultaneously drive its performance and change capability?
  • What (results) has it achieved for its stakeholders so far What does it want to achieve in the future?

The common thread of the model is the linking of an organization's purpose, vision and strategy with its culture, with its leadership at all levels and with its sustainable structures. The model shows how an organization creates sustainable value for the stakeholders it recognizes as important and received outstanding results.

The model supports your organization in achieving success by showing where you are on the path to creating sustainable value. It helps to identify areas for action and to understand possible solutions.

Information about the Model 2020 and the EFQM Recognition Programme is updated on an ongoing basis.
