FHS St.Gallen awarded with 4 stars
The University of Applied Sciences St.Gallen has achieved the recognition level "EFQM Recognised for Excellence" with an excellent four out of five stars. On June 1, the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) presented the certificate to the UAS. This award confirms the path chosen by the UAS, which is based on innovation, interdisciplinarity and the pursuit of shared success.

The Rector of FHS St.Gallen, Sebastian Wörwag, is delighted with the good report card issued to the UAS and says: "We are pleased that the university's understanding of quality is reflected in the certification. The good result proves us right that quality is not only a system, but also a culture".
Voluntary decision
The FHS St.Gallen has voluntarily undergone a quality review by the EFQM. For this purpose, an 82-page self-evaluation report was prepared internally and reviewed by two independent assessors in an external assessment at the end of April. During three days, the assessors conducted 17 interviews with different groups of employees, students and alumni. The assessment criteria were leadership; strategy; employees; partnerships as well as processes, products and services of the FHS and the results achieved with customers, employees and society.
The EFQM Model
The EFQM Model for Business Excellence provides a holistic view of an organization's practices. On the basis of self-assessment and external assessment, the maturity level of a company or organisation can be determined in relation to others. The degree of fulfilment of the individual EFQM criteria is checked by the assessors on the basis of the application brochure and the on-site interviews. This enables a comparison of different organisations.
