Federal intelligence service want before cyberattacks
The "Security Switzerland" situation report for 2016 has just been published. The author of the report and a new clip is the Federal Intelligence Service (FIS). In addition to the trouble spots in the Middle East and Russia, it also deals with industrial espionage and how Swiss companies are being spied on using cyber resources.
The situation report "Security Switzerland", which has just been published, primarily deals with current threats to our country. The focus is on crises in the Middle East and Ukraine, for example. In addition, however, the increasing activity of prohibited intelligence services in Switzerland is also addressed.
These self-proclaimed cyber terrorists are increasingly trying to obtain intellectual property from Swiss companies. In order to obtain the relevant data, they rely on a combination of sophisticated and highly targeted cyberattacks as well as nasty social engineering tricks to block or blackmail Swiss businesses.
Short film to raise awareness
The FIS shows what such a case of industrial espionage might look like in the short film "Im Visier", which was produced as part of the Prophylax prevention and awareness programme. This is intended to warn Swiss companies, universities and research institutes of the threats and risks of espionage and proliferation.
