Awarded! Surplex wins HR Excellence Award 2020
Surplex GmbH's internal training series "Zwölfuhrschlau" was honored with the HR Excellence Award 2020! At this year's awards, the concept was unbeatable in the "SME Learning & Development (Learning Culture)" category.
Surplex GmbH made it onto the category shortlist at the beginning of November along with three other companies. Last Friday, Karin Schneider (Senior HR Generalist) and Katja Sankowski (Head of HR) beat the competition in a live online pitch.
The HR Excellence Awards (HREA) annually honor the best achievements in human resources. The most innovative and creative ideas are nominated here. Concepts that set new standards in future HR work are honored in the form of the award.

- is the slogan of the internal training series by and for the Surplex team. All lecturers who share their knowledge, whether from the professional or private sphere, with interested colleagues work at Surplex themselves. True to the company's mission statement: "We are colourful", the lecturers create thematically very different, approx. 60-minute learning tidbits, which are imparted during the lunch break, at lunch or over a cup of coffee. The series started locally, but has since continued through Microsoft Teams due to the Corona pandemic. Attendance is voluntary and all team members - regardless of position or job - can listen or present a topic themselves. There is also the option to view many of the past "Zwölfuhrschlaus" as a recording on the company's internal wiki.
The "Zwölfuhrschlau" topics range from Excel and Trello training to handlettering courses and even a mini-Japanese course. A positive side effect of the "Zwölfuhrschlau" seminars is that colleagues from a wide range of departments come into contact with each other, so that new acquaintances can be made throughout the company, beyond their own department.
The format is to be continued in 2021, including in English and for all international locations.
