Digital transformation versus paper documents
Among the biggest spoilers of digital transformation are paper documents. As a result, fast and easy digitization and seamless integration into business processes are taking on a whole new level of importance. To meet the diverse demands, Kodak Alaris presents the Kodak i3500 duplex scanner, a new addition to the proven Kodak i3000 series.
The new scanner features a USB 3.0 interface and comes with standard drivers and software for easy integration into Windows, Mac and Linux environments.
The new Kodak i3500 is a true all-rounder and is ideal for office environments in various industries. Wherever high demands on productivity, excellent image quality and security play a role, the scanner finds its ideal place of use, e.g. in authorities, banks and insurance companies or in the health care sector. With a speed of up to 110 sheets per minute, the Kodak i3500 scans stacks of different paper thicknesses and formats, from business cards to A3 documents. A high degree of security is offered by the ultrasonic multi-feed detection. It ensures that every single sheet is digitized and reliably detects documents that have been glued or stapled together. This prevents paper jams and damage to documents.
Optional flatbed scanners in DIN A4 and DIN A3 formats are available as well as an imprinter for marking scanned documents.
Fight the data chaos
Data chaos always arises when unstructured data gets out of hand. Kodak Alaris provides the right tools to ensure that the information obtained from paper documents is integrated into downstream business processes in a structured manner. First of all, the integrated image processing technology not only ensures consistently high image quality, but also includes the reading of barcodes.
With the optional Kodak Capture Pro scanning solution, business-critical data can be extracted from documents. A significant simplification in manual indexing is the optical character recognition (OCR) by mouse click. A simple click on the value or character string required for the index leads to the transfer of the same into the corresponding index field. This allows for faster processing as opposed to drag and drop or keyboard entry, which can be fraught with errors. With automatic indexing, barcodes and OCR can also be read on subsequent pages if desired. Kodak Capture Pro supports integration of scanned documents into ECM systems, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365, and other business applications.
