Lausanne Hospitality Consulting is part of the Lausanne-based EHL Group, which manages a portfolio of specialized business units. Since its foundation in 1893, EHL has been the symbol of Swiss hospitality. It is still a pioneer in its pioneering training for the hotel and hospitality sector. The result is a unique global community of 25,000 hospitality leaders who all share EHL's traditional values.

125th anniversary creates renewals

EHL is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a systematic renewal programme. It will present its ambitious Strategy 2025 later this year. A key role in achieving its growth targets will be played by the further expansion of EHL Group's consulting company: Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC). In this way, the development and dissemination of the Swiss education model as well as the hotel expertise of the EHL Group will be further promoted worldwide.

With the departure of Yateendra Sinh as CEO of LHC as well as the resignation of Professor Ernst A. Brugger, who has reached the statutory age limit after nine years as Chairman of the LHC Board of Directors, there is a change in the LHC management team. Both experts, Yateendra Sinh as well as Professor Ernst A. Brugger, were very successful in their leadership roles and contributed significantly to the development of LHC.

Managing director of the "Storchen

Jörg Arnold, Managing Director of the Zurich luxury hotel Storchen, will be appointed Chairman of the LHC Board of Directors until 31 December 2018. As an alumnus of EHL and an experienced hotelier, Jörg Arnold brings with him broad expertise in hotel management. In addition, he has extensive knowledge of the industry as a member of the Executive Board of hotelleriesuisse (since 2015) and, prior to that, as the long-standing President of the Zürcher Hotelierverein.

Olivier Roux, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of EHL Group, will assume the role of Senior Managing Director of LHC in addition to his current mandate as of 1 September 2018. Olivier Roux brings extensive international experience and a solid background in business development, which is crucial for the further expansion of LHC on a global scale.

LHC continues to focus on five areas in its core business. In doing so, it aims to strengthen sustainable growth and innovation in the hotel industry:

Staff and Management Support: Tailored talent sourcing and training, and review of organizational structures.

Consulting services for hotel businesses: comprehensive consulting services for hotel companies in close cooperation with the future EHL Innovation Hub, a centre for innovative research and development - in the immediate vicinity of the EHL Lausanne campus and the location of the new LHC head office.

Solutions for learning centers: EHL expertise and credentials for top international hotel schools. This promotes talent development in the face of increasing market demand and access to quality education for local students.

leadership training - in line with EHL Group's goal to be a partner for lifelong learning and to provide hotel professionals with the latest insights from a rapidly changing industry.

Digital Education Portfolio, with which LHC can meet the needs of its certified schools and its other customers. "Growth in the hospitality industry continues to outpace that of the overall economy. There is therefore a great demand for education and expertise, especially in emerging markets. With LHC offices in Lausanne, Delhi and Beijing, and a network that spans more than 30 countries, we now have a great opportunity to support the growth of the hotel sector where it is happening," Olivier Roux notes.

"Thanks to our experienced teams and the solid foundation that LHC has built over the years, we are now in a position to expand LHC's operations and grow our future activities," adds Jörg Arnold.

"We are delighted to expand LHC's operations and guarantee access to the knowledge and experience that has made EHL widely recognized as the best university for hospitality management," concludes Michel Rochat, CEO of EHL Group.
