The Swiss Technology Award Swiss Technology Award was awarded for the 31st time in 2019 to innovative entrepreneurs and exciting research projects.

With this award, which is supported by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), the Swiss Economic Forum aims to SEF promote the culture of innovation in Switzerland in collaboration with its partners.

This year, prizes were again awarded in the categories "Inventors", "Start-ups" and "Innovation Leaders".

This year, a product from the Canton of Berne has been nominated for an award in the category "Innovation Leaders": the decentralised bathroom pre-wall unit for hot water production Thermos. The manufacturer is Swissframe AG from Münchenbuchsee.

Together with Professor Urs Muntwyler, head of the Photovoltaic Systems Laboratory at the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH, and two other universities of applied sciences, she has developed a system that uses the exhaust air from the home ventilation system as a heat source and uses a highly efficient small heat pump to heat the hot water tank.
