Bechtle receives Bosch Global Supplier Award
On 13 July 2017, Bechtle AG received the Bosch Global Supplier Award from Robert Bosch GmbH. The largest group-independent IT system house in Germany was honoured in the indirect purchasing category for the supply of hardware, software and services.
This is the 15th time that Bosch has presented the Bosch Global Supplier Award in recognition of above-average performance in the manufacture and supply of products or services - particularly in the areas of quality, costs, innovation, and logistics. At the awards ceremony, which was held under the motto "Partners in Success," Dr. Volkmar Denner, chairman of the Bosch board of management, emphasized that the company's suppliers were the best in the world:
"In the networked world, partnerships are becoming increasingly important. Hierarchical value chains are becoming value networks. With our open platform technologies, we can make the most of the opportunities presented by digitization in our partner networks, for example for data exchange in Industrie 4.0 via the Production Performance Management Protocol." Bosch has several thousand suppliers.
Bechtle AG with several locations
Bechtle has been a hardware supplier and IT service provider for Bosch throughout Europe since 2000 and has been one of the "Preferred Suppliers" since 2010. The system house also operates 10 supply locations in Switzerland. The high degree of digitalization of the ordering process and the country-specific shopping carts are noteworthy. The Bosch Group also purchases from Bechtle AG.

This year's Global Supplier Award was presented at the Gold Mine in Fellbach. The award was accepted by Alfred Neidhard, Divisional Board Member for the South Region, and Alexander Hofmann, Managing Director of Bechtle IT System House Rottenburg, from Dr. Karl Nowak, Chairman of the Bosch Board of Management of the Corporate Purchasing and Logistics Division, and from Jan Saggau, Vice President Purchasing Indirect Services and Material.
"Bosch's success is largely based on competitiveness, innovative strength, and agility, which we can only achieve through successful international partnerships," commented Dr. Karl Nowak.
Bechtle Divisional Board Member Alfred Neidhard is delighted about the award: "We are very proud to have been able to successfully accompany Bosch for 17 years. Mutual appreciation and consistent future orientation have led to remarkable developments within the customer-supplier relationship. On the one hand, the award is a distinction for our performance, but on the other hand it is an incentive to continue on our chosen path of further digitalization with vigor and vision.
