A standardised safety and hygiene label for hotels
A safety and hygiene label for hotels: EHL Advisory Services, the EHL Group's consulting company, has developed an implementation-ready package of procedures and training that enables independent hotels and hotel associations to welcome their guests in a safe and controlled environment.
Participating hotels will receive a ready-to-use package explaining the program, including points to remember and additional procedures and on-the-job training for the team. The new toolbox from EHL Advisory Services enables the various hotel sectors to quickly meet the increased hygiene requirements and continue to compete with larger providers as tourists slowly return.
In a changing environment characterised by fears and uncertainty around the world about health risks and increasingly stringent hygiene requirements, the hospitality industry is striving to introduce new measures to facilitate the return of guests. Travellers planning their next holiday or their first business trip in months will be very interested in finding accommodation that can guarantee the highest standards to protect them from potential health risks.
Based on best practices and protocols developed by EHL Advisory Services in collaboration with Working Safe, the programme provides external validation of how well a hotel has implemented the recommended procedures. EHL Advisory Services has also drawn on the expertise gained by the EHL Group in the use of products and standard procedures from the world's leading hygiene company Ecolab.
Individually tailored to each hotel
Although largely standardised, the experts commissioned formulate specific recommendations as part of the service package, which are tailored to the respective hotel structure and current procedures.
In recognition of their compliance with the established safety and hygiene standards, participating hotels receive a badge from EHL Advisory Services. This is to assure guests that the hotel is committed to industry leading hygiene practices.
A tool that promotes the recovery of the industry
The program was developed with the intention of stimulating the recovery of the industry. It was designed from the perspective of price-conscious, independent hoteliers. The price is designed to allow owners to implement world-leading standards and practices at a cost that is neither prohibitive nor will make a return to profitability impossible.
The EHL Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (Chur-Passugg) has been one of the leading hotel and hospitality management schools for 50 years. In a recently renovated 19th century spa hotel in Passugg, Graubünden, it offers Swiss and international students from 20 countries federally recognised diplomas at both professional and university level.
