Swiss Association for Technical Inspections SVTI consolidates its structures

The SVTI can look back on a successful 2015 financial year. Despite a difficult economic environment, all SVTI inspectorates achieved their goals. Around 250 members attended the 147th Association Meeting, which was held in Basel on 23 June 2016.

For the SVTI Group, 2015 was a year of consolidation. Following restructuring in previous years, SVTI consolidated its new structures in 2015. SVTI also pressed ahead with the project for the extension to the site in Wallisellen. The new building is expected to be ready for occupation in summer 2017, so that the SVTI Group will be conducting all training courses on site from autumn 2017.

Thanks to the SVTI's new premises with state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Wallisellen site is developing into an important centre for training in the field of safety of technical installations and risk management.

Positive result in 2015

SVTI and its subsidiaries also felt the effects of the difficult economic environment in 2015. Sales were down slightly for certain services, such as classic non-destructive testing, and in the area of hazardous goods. Nevertheless, the inspectorates and most areas of the SVTI Group achieved their targets in 2015. The operating result was correspondingly pleasing.

Change in the Board of Directors

At the association meeting, the members present confirmed the previous board member Patrice Voumard and the president Udo M. Bäckert, whose term of office had expired, for a further term of three years. Jean-Pierre Passerat, Managing Director of Leman Bio Energie and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sappro SA, was newly elected to the Board. Robert Fasler has resigned from the SVTI board due to retirement.
