Programming marathon for tech talent
In a few days, Zurich will once again become the mecca of tech talent. "Hack Zurich" is the most renowned hackathon in Europe. A 40-hour programming marathon is on the horizon.
Hack Zurich took place for the first time in October 2014 at Technopark Zurich. The event was organized by Rasmus Rothe and Jonathan Isenring together with students of the ETH and University of Zurich was founded. Since the first year, the event has developed into the largest Hackathon Europe. Every year, 600 international participants are invited to Zurich (this year, slightly fewer talents are likely to make the pilgrimage to Zurich as a result of the pandemic). According to the organizers, they are recruited from a global pool of 5,500 applications representing various elite universities from more than 85 countries. As always, the tech talents will develop innovative web, mobile and hardware applications in teams of two to four during a 40-hour hackathon at Technopark in Zurich. For the event, international companies and organizations from various industries provide participants with hardware, the latest technologies, tools and APIs to stimulate the creation of new prototypes.
The Galledia, which publishes the trade publication "Management und Qualität" (Management and Quality) together with the SAQ, is present with a stand this year: it gives the hackers an assignment to program something for the company. The stand is primarily there to answer the hackers' questions and provide a place to rest.
The Hackathon in Zurich represents a unique opportunity to connect with new technologies, innovation opportunities and a selection of the world's best tech talent.
