Software company digitizes ISO 9001 requirements

For the first time, a software company has completely digitalized the complex requirements of the quality management standard ISO 9001, writes Innolytics AG. Their ISO 9001 certification software reduces the effort and cost of certification by more than 80 percent.

"The creation of the as-is analysis and an action plan alone used to take several weeks," emphasizes Dr. Jens-Uwe Meyer, CEO of Innolytics. "That's why our technology is a real revolution for companies that want to be certified according to ISO 9001. This will change the market."

More than 300 standard requirements digitized

In months of work, a team of experts digitized all of the more than 300 standard requirements, mapped them in complex algorithms and thus created an innovative digital certification process. "It guides users through the complex set of regulations in 45 minutes on the basis of around 100 questions," explains Chief Technology Officer Steffen Kügler. "Based on the answers, our algorithms then calculate which requirements companies already meet. In addition, they list the specific measures and tasks that the company still has to implement or fulfill for certification."

Implement measures after less than one hour

According to the software company, companies can start implementing the measures after less than an hour. These are automatically transferred into a work process, responsibilities are assigned and implementation goals are defined, as emphasized. The software maps all the requirements of ISO 9001 in a single platform: for example, document control with approval processes, internal improvement management, process visualizations, internal audits and management reviews.

"Companies dealing with ISO 9001 for the first time are simply overwhelmed by its complexity," explains Meyer. "The goal of our initiative is to radically simplify this complexity with the help of digital solutions - for companies worldwide."

Also for ISO 140001

Innolytics plans to digitize other management systems such as ISO 14001 (environmental management), sustainability requirements, and legal requirements such as the Supply Chain Act. "All these requirements are complex for companies," Meyer explains. "Yet they always follow the same logic: compare the actual with the target state, develop and implement measures, control and continuously improve."

To make it easy for interested parties to get started, Meyer said the company is the first in the world to offer them free training in quality management and initial certification. "Companies that take the first step with our free tools receive a certificate from us that already confirms the partial implementation of ISO 9001," says Meyer. They could use this for marketing purposes, for example. Implementing the measures with the help of the software is also free of charge for 30 days. "We want to make it as easy as possible for companies to get started with ISO 9001. From our point of view, this is the philosophy of the digital age: just let customers try out a possible problem solution; afterwards, let them decide for themselves whether it is something for them," Meyer explains.
