Control 2017 reports record participation and growth in exhibition space

More exhibitors than ever before, an increase in exhibition space of 10 %, a new hall layout, improved infrastructure and a technically "well-rounded" supporting programme, Control - International Trade Fair for Quality Assurance of 2017, remains arguably the most important information and business platform for all aspects of industrial quality assurance.

Control 2017 reports record participation and growth in exhibition space

Well over 900 exhibitors from 30 countries will occupy 52,500 m² of gross exhibition space in Halls 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and will present a comprehensive range of products and services covering the entire world market. This has been announced by trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. Thanks to a new hall layout, Control will now be able to present itself as a "block", and thus as a compact trade fair with optimised paths. The move into Halls 3, 5 and 7 on one side of the fair, as well as Halls 4 and 6 on the other side of the fair, means that trade visitors arriving in the morning, as well as exhibitors, will have a more even start to the trade fair day, because the streams of visitors from the two entrances, east and west, will now be distributed more evenly throughout all of the halls. Parallel to the conversion and expansion measures, the access and parking infrastructure of the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre has also been optimised. Combined with the technical traffic connections (direct access from motorway and federal roads, S-Bahn and airport) to the State Trade Fair Centre, this results in a comfortable and low-stress access situation. Further marketing measures such as the mobile website "m.control-messe.de" (direct access to the mobile website for smartphones and tablets), the online tool "My trade fair day" (for optimum planning of an efficient trade fair visit) or also the (free) Happy Friday consumption voucher for Friday as the final day of the trade fair, and last but not least the possibility of advance registration of trade visitors via the Internet, form the convenient basis for a successful trade fair visit with high knowledge value.

Central element quality assurance
Against the backdrop of individual booming QA segments such as machine vision and vision systems, robot-supported sub-systems and complete systems or optoelectronic sensor technology, the exhibition portfolio at the 31st Control will once again be at the highest level. Thanks to the comparatively high degree of digitalisation of components, assemblies and systems for industrial quality assurance, these modules are characterised by maximum I 4.0 capability and thus form an essential element for the implementation of I 4.0 structures in reality.

However, it is not only the developers and manufacturers of the corresponding hardware and software who play a significant role in the technological status of industrial quality assurance, but above all research institutes, university laboratories, institutions, associations and scientific unions. They are often the initiators of new approaches to solutions, providers of ideas for innovative developments and drivers for market expansions/openings. Consequently, in 2017 Control - International Trade Fair for Quality Assurance - will once again feature all the top names in this sector. On the one hand, with more than 900 exhibitors (Control 2016 = 914 exhibitors from 31 nations), the world's range of QA hardware and software, and on the other hand, cooperation with leading institutions and opinion leaders from all segments - namely industrial quality assurance.

Leading QS cooperation partners
These include the long-standing cooperation partners Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) and the Fraunhofer Vision Alliance. At Control 2017, the IPA will be holding the "Event Forum" for the tenth time, which is currently focusing on the topic of "Quality in changing times - a look at a decade and the future of quality control". The Fraunhofer Vision Alliance has been on board for even longer and is organizing the

at Control 2017 for the 13th time the special show "Non-Contact Measurement Technology". This time, the second Fraunhofer Vision Alliance booth will focus on "Monitoring along the product life cycle with image processing". The unstoppable triumph of machine vision and vision systems in all segments of quality assurance is one of the reasons why the European Machine Vision Association EMVA has also been a cooperation partner since Control 2016 and has had a very successful start with the "Control Vision Talks".

EMVA is taking this success as an opportunity to once again organize the "Control Vision Talks" at Control 2017, which this time will revolve around the technology topics a.) World of 3D: From 6-DoF to Point Cloud, b.) Optical Metrology: Offline - At line - Inline, c.) Metrology throughout the whole spec trum: From Infrared to Hyperspectral, and will thus unerringly meet the interests of the trade visitors. Other cooperation partners include the company xpertgate, which is responsible for the research and preparation of the Control special trade fair guide "Image Processing", which is already being published for the fourth time.
...is a very good one.
