A milestone
Clienia Littenheid AG receives the fourth star from the EFQM for its excellent quality management. This is a remarkable award for successful, sustainable corporate development. The official award of the certificate took place recently and was celebrated together with employees and managers of the clinic.
The EFQM Model for Business Excellence enables - as the examples on the previous pages have already shown - a holistic view of the procedures of an organisation. As a comprehensive management model, it supports continuous and sustainable development and quality improvement as well as the economic success of a company. On the basis of a self-assessment and external assessment, the degree of maturity of a company or an organisation can be determined in relation to others. The degree of fulfilment of the individual EFQM criteria is checked by the assessors on the basis of application documents and on-site discussions with the departments involved. This enables a comparison of different organisations.
Quality improvement as a culture
The Clie-nia Clinic Group has already completed this procedure several times. At the end of 2013, Clienia Littenheid AG was awarded its third EFQM star. Since then, the clinic and its services have developed effectively and continuously, always with the aim of providing its patients with the best possible treatment. The clinic has succeeded in applying the principles of Business Excel.
"Proud of this extraordinary result."
lence in their work and to live a culture of continuous quality improvement, according to a recently published media release.
Four-day assessment
Checking and assessing whether an organisation meets the EFQM criteria is an intensive process, not only for the finalists for the ESPRIX Swiss Award for Excellence. This was also the case for Clienia: Last November, a team of two assessors evaluated and assessed Clienia Littenheid AG on site for four days. The basis for this was the 80-page application form and over 20 assessment interviews in various focus groups, involving around 80 interview participants from all locations, areas and professional groups. The clinic and the employees succeeded in convincing the assessors of the excellent quality of their work.
Another star as a reward
The Clinic Director of Clienia Littenheid AG, Daniel Wild, is delighted with the good report card issued to the clinic and says: "I am proud of this exceptional result. It is the achievement of all the employees of Clienia Littenheid AG and testifies to our common striving for efficient processes and constant improvements in services and performance." On 5 January, the clinic celebrated the official presentation of the certificate. Just weeks before, Clienia Littenheid AG's sister clinic, Clienia Schlössli AG in Oetwil, was also awarded the fourth star - a distinction reserved for only a few Swiss companies.
