55-year anniversary: procure.ch
Around 200 participants attended the spring conference of the procure.ch trade association on 19 May 2016 at the Bellevue Palace Hotel in Berne. On the occasion of its 55th anniversary, the audience was treated to presentations on supplier management and evolutionary topics such as opportunity intelligence and digitalization. The last third of the event was the General Meeting.
In his welcome address, former National Councillor Rudolf Strahm congratulated the procure.ch professional association on 55 years of successful manoeuvring in a constantly changing educational landscape. The long-standing price supervisor pointed out the importance of procurement in the process efficiency of companies and described higher vocational education as a key point for the diffusion of new technologies.
General Assembly 2016
At the subsequent General Meeting, the Board of Directors was partially filled. Adrian Jungo, Swisscom's top procurement manager, was elected as the new president. Not only the previous Chairman, Andreas Kilchenmann, made his office available due to term limits. Board members Jörg Bortoluzzi and Peter Emch also did likewise. All three were duly bade farewell. They were replaced by the CPO of HG Commerciale and new Chairman of the Regional Managers' Conference, Martin Aschwanden, and Gian-Marco Caggia, who heads the Procurement division at SBB.
