The EFQM organisation celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. At the anniversary forum on 29 and 30 September 2016 in Milan, 15 companies applied for the European Excellence Award. Among them were large institutions and companies such as the Stavropol State Agrarian University Russia or the Robert Bosch GmbH (Blaichach Plant) Germany.

Ayuntamiento de Alcobendas, a city near Madrid (Spain), became a deserving EFQM European Award Winner 2016, followed by no less than eight EFQM Prize Winners and six EFQM Finalists. The glittering ceremony was the highlight of the two-day congress with participants from many European countries, representatives from the Middle East, Colombia, Ecuador and, for the first time, China.

As part of the EFQM Excellence Award 2016 Milano, Priska Wyser, Managing Director of ESPRIX Excellence Suisse, met the former Finnish Formula 1 world champion Mikka Häkkinen. The guests at the anniversary award ceremony learned many interesting facts from Häkkinen on the topic of "Beyond the limits" from his active Formula 1 time. The EFQM award winners were able to receive their well-deserved awards from his hand, which was certainly a special honour.
